Our last day of our mini-vacation found us in Mt. Shasta, where Leeor and Avi posed outside our hotel. We were about to embark on the last leg of our long drive home and wanted to enjoy every minute of our time off together. It was a great weekend. More on that later.
Rainy days mean fun indoor activities; Leeor took Avi to our local Glen Park Library Saturday afternoon so I could grab a nap. Avi loves books, but he also loves him a computer and is shockingly good at using one.

This weekend we went from sunshiny bliss to rainy fog and it was all good. It smells mildly of smoke outside, like people are making fires in their fireplaces. I danced in a show called Harvest at Dance Mission; it was so much fun and liberating to be on stage after so many years! Avi sent me on my way to the theatre each night with a kiss and a phrase, "Mommy ballet." It's not ballet but that makes sense to him so it's cute to me. As I was getting ready to go on Friday, he ran up to me and said, "Mommy, look!" and proceeded to do a move that looked like downward dog with a leg thrown up into the air. Hmm. I asked him if it was ballet or yoga. "Ballet!" he yelled and proceeded to jump around in circles. Leeor also introduced him to Annie, the movie, and he was instantly smitten with the singing and dancing girls. I watched a little of it with him tonight as the rain steadily came down outside, our screen doors wide open to catch the fresh air. It's been a long time since I sat down and watched Annie. "These girls are good," I said, mostly to myself, but our little bear misses nothing. "Yeah," he mused, and settled a little deeper into our snuggle.
Earlier we went to our neighbors/landlord's house upstairs for a traditional Bolvian feast. Amazing ceviche and chicken with lots of potatoes, sweet and starchy old regular. It was delicious and Avi lovingly tended to this little girl's baby doll in her stroller. We discovered he loves corn on the cob. Back to work tomorrow, and it's supposed to keep raining, but my guys will take me to work in the morning and Avi and I will probably get our Annie on after I get home, so things are pretty good. I just love the fall. It's by far my favorite season.
